What is a masocut? A printmaking process I created for myself to experiment with handmade, computer generated, & photographic imagery all on the same plate. The prints usually begin with me photographing models in the studio. I combine these with scanned drawings and I cut the image into a piece of masonite with both my hand and a laser. When inked as relief prints, the resulting images contain photographic, vector, and handwork with soft brown tones. The plates were made at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia & printed while on fellowship at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop in Times Square.
